🥘 Ingredients
Beef
  • 1 lb flank steak (sliced thin against the grain)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch (for coating)
Sauce
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger (grated)
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 green onions (sliced into 2-inch pieces)
Serving
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
📝 Instructions
  1. Slice flank steak thinly against the grain. Toss with cornstarch. Shared 💡 Freeze steak 20 minutes first for easier thin slicing.
  2. Whisk soy sauce, brown sugar, hoisin, garlic, ginger, red pepper flakes. Shared 💡 Taste the sauce — adjust sweet/salty balance.
  3. Preheat Ninja on Air Fry at 400°F. Spread beef in pan single layer. Shared 💡 Cornstarch coating fries crispy in hot air.
  4. Air Fry at 400°F for 6 minutes, toss, then 4 more until edges are crispy. Top Oven 💡 Crispy edges are the signature of Mongolian beef.
  5. Heat sauce in a skillet or wok until bubbling and slightly thickened. Shared 💡 Simmering the sauce concentrates flavors.
  6. Toss crispy beef in hot sauce with green onion pieces. Cook 1 minute. Shared 💡 Quick toss — do not let beef lose its crisp.
  7. Rest 2 minutes. Garnish with sesame seeds. Serve over steamed rice. Shared 💡 Sesame seeds add nutty crunch.
💡 Ninja Tips

Freeze steak for easier slicing. Slice against the grain — crucial for tenderness. Cornstarch coating fries crisp. Toss in sauce at the last second. Serve over rice.
